Four buyers show interest in purchasing Quincy Gems

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - Quincy Gems baseball team is one step closer to having a new owner.  Oakley-Lindsay Center Executive Director Rob Ebbing says four potential buyers are showing interest in the team.

Ebbing says all four potential buyers plan to keep the Gems in Quincy.
"I'm excited that we feel that the potential buyers are all looking at keeping it in Quincy," Ebbing said. "Quincy has everything it takes to make baseball good in the summertime at the collegiate level."

Ebbing says he hopes to get a deal made soon and says the sale won't impact the 2014 team.  The OLC board of directors voted to put the Gems up for sale in October after the team finished more than $91,000 in the red last season.
