Winter weather holds up crews from filling potholes

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - Potholes are just one more headache for drivers in winter weather, and city officials say drivers are unfortunately going to have to deal with them for a while.

Quincy Central Services Director Marty Stegeman says even though there are more potholes on the roads in the winter, crews can't fix them right now.

Stegeman says snowy, wet conditions make it hard to fill them.

"We do treat or fill potholes all year," Stegeman said. "However right now until the weather breaks, or we don't get snow every third or fourth day like we're getting right now or projected to get there isn't too much we can do."

Stegeman says if you want to report a pothole, you can call Central Services and crews will repair it as soon as the weather gets warmer.
