Keokuk police arrest two in meth lab bust

KEOKUK, Ia. (WGEM) - Two Keokuk residents were arrested Monday on felony and misdemeanor drug charges.

The Lee County Narcotics Task Force says officers arrested Christopher Adam Matous, 29, and Eryn Eppel, 21, both of 3014 South 7th St. #2, at their home.

Eppel is charged with conspiracy to manufacture more than five grams of meth, a class B felony, and maintaining a drug house, an aggravated misdemeanor.

If convicted, Eppel faces up to 27 years in state prison.

Matous is charged with possession with the intent to deliver less than five grams of meth for the second or subsequent offense, a class C felony with special enhancements, conspiracy to manufacture more than five grams of meth second or subsequent offense, a class B felony with special enhancements, possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor, and maintaining a drug house, an aggravated misdemeanor.

If convicted, Matous faces up to 102 years and 30 days in state prison.

The task force says Keokuk police officers discovered a meth lab in the home when they were serving a felony arrest warrant.
