MoDOT to replace and repair dozens of bridges in Northeast Missouri

MoDOT is working to repair or replace more than a dozen bridges in Northeast Missouri this spring.

Some of the bridges MoDOT is looking to replace are South of Perry on Route B.  For that area, officials say they will have to completely close down the bridges while work is being done. That means drivers will have to find another route.

Area engineer Brian Haeffner says this could be one of the last years MoDOT can repair bridges.

"We're lucky to be able to do that today with the funding that we have now.  Going forward we still have a lot of bridges out there that need to be replaced and our funding is getting to the point where we're going to have difficulty doing that," Haeffner said.

The total cost of repairs and replacements is $9.4 million.
