Adams County Ag Literacy program receives grant money for the third time

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - The Adams County Ag Literacy program will be able to reach out even further this year, thanks to ADM.

ADM Cares announced a $5,000 grant for the program Thursday. This is the third time the Ag Literacy program has received the grant. Program coordinator Sharon Knorr says this money helps serve a variety of functions.

"That money will be used for program support to go into classrooms and to teach about agriculture through math, science, language arts and social studies," Knorr said.

Adams County Ag Literacy is part of the University of Illinois Extension Office. In 2013, the program presented 553 programs to the area.
