City of Quincy hosting budget retreat

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - Budget time is quickly rolling around for city governments, and Quincy mayor Kyle Moore says he wants community members to be involved with the process.

The city will hold a budget retreat on Saturday. Moore says the purpose is for city leaders to set financial priorities before voting on the final budget, and to allow community members to voice any comments or concerns. Moore says also wants to see aldermen more involved with the whole process.

"You know, as an aldermen, I didn't have a say on it until it was dropped on my desk, and I wanted the council to be an active participant in forming our budget, and that way we can make sure the administration's priorities are the council's priorities and the community's priorities," Moore said.

The retreat will be on Saturday from nine until noon at Town and Country Inn and Suites.
