Troopers find $306k worth of marijuana during traffic stop

SCOTT COUNTY, Ill. (WGEM) - Two Ohio residents are under arrest after police say they were carrying over $300,000 worth of marijuana through the Tri-States.

Illinois state troopers stopped Cheryl Tucker and Candi Mathias for speeding on Interstate 72 in Scott County when they say a police dog sniffed marijuana in the vehicle.

Troopers found two duffel bags with 27 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $306,000.

Troopers say the pair was taking the drugs from Los Angeles to Columbus, Ohio.
