Quincy man arrested on gun charges

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - A Quincy man was arrested Monday after a search warrant was served at his home at 706 North 4th Street, deputies said.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team served the warrant Thursday afternoon for the West Central Illinois Task Force as part of an investigation into a felon with firearms.

Deputies said they found rifles, two handguns and numerous rounds of ammunition. Eric J. Padavic, 34, wasn't home at the time, but was arrested Monday morning when he turned himself in at the sheriff's office.

Court records show Padavic was charged in 2006 with unlawful delivery of meth, unlawful sale of a firearm to a felon and unlawful sale of a firearm with no valid FOID.

Padavic pleaded guilty to delivery of meth and sale of a firearm with no valid FOID and was sentenced to 30 months probation.
