The Red Cross chapter serving eleven counties in Western Illinois and Northeast Missouri has a new interim executive director.
Amanda Stotts, who's served as office manager for the Quincy headquarters for just over a year, will take over the new position immediately.
She replaces Pam Shaffer, who's retiring after 34 years with the Red Cross.
In her new role, Stotts will lead the Red Cross' efforts to ensure that the quality and timely response to emergency needs in Adams, Brown, Hancock, McDonough and Pike counties in West Central Illinois and Clark, Lewis, Marion, Monroe, Ralls and Shelby counties in Northeast Missouri will continue to be provided.
As Executive Director, Amanda will represent the Red Cross in the community, raise funds to support local services and ensure the effective coordination of Red Cross volunteers and operations in west central Illinois and northeast Missouri.
"I am very excited to carry on the legacy that Pam worked so diligently to build in our communities," said Stotts. "I believe in the Red Cross, and it is part of who I am. I am humbled to continue to serve my friends and neighbors in our eleven county service area."
"We believe that Amanda, due to her experience over the past year of working at our local chapter is best suited to understanding the needs, expectations, and changes that are part of our everyday mission," said Carlos Fernandez, Red Cross Board of Directors Chair.
"This is an exciting day for West Central Illinois and Northeast Missouri. Amanda is the perfect choice to lead the Quincy chapter," said Anne Fox, Region Chief Executive Officer of the Central Illinois Region. "We truly believe she will help further the Red Cross mission within the community."
