Chocolate Extravaganza benefits downtown businesses

Posted:
HANNIBAL, Mo. (WGEM) - It was a dream come true for chocolate lovers in the Tri-States,  as downtown Hannibal hosted its 4th annual Chocolate Extravaganza.

More than 20 businesses took part in the event by giving out varieties of chocolate samples, discounts, and freebies to those who bought an event passport.

Business owners and participants said the event was a lot of fun and is a huge benefit for the businesses.

"It's wonderful for businesses it brings people in, like I say it brings people downtown," says business owner Mary Glenn Vowman.

"It's just a lot of fun and it's a chance to come out and support the downtown, local businesses," says Chocolate Extravaganza participant Stacey Mueller.

Organizers said the event is the downtown's way of catching up after a long, tough winter and preparing for the spring season.
