Former teacher's sexual abuse case goes to state supreme court

A former Keokuk teacher accused of sexually abusing a student when she taught at another school district will have her case heard by the Iowa Supreme Court.

Gina Sisk, who was teaching at the New London School District in Henry County at the time, is accused of sexually abusing one of her students several times during a six-year period.

Defense attorneys for Gina Sisk and the New London School District will present arguments April 2.

They're asking the court to overturn an district court ruling that allowed a lawsuit to continue.

Sisk was placed on administrative leave from Keokuk schools when the allegations surfaced in March 2012.
