Warm weather benefits construction crews

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - Tuesday's burst of nice weather was beneficial for local construction companies.

Kevin Hamann with Hamann Construction says his crews took advantage of the warm temperatures by getting a lot of work done on their job site at 28th and Harrison in Quincy.

Hamann says the recent harsh winter has slowed down work on some of his projects, and he's happy for a break from the cold.

"It's real helpful for us," Hamann said. "We can get started earlier and work longer in the day. We're not worried about compressors freezing up, guns freezing up. The guys like working better when it's warm out and we're not freezing."

Hamann says if more nice days come along in the near future, construction on the houses could be finished on schedule in the next three months.
