QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - Blessing Corporate Services, the parent company for Blessing Health System, named its new president Wednesday morning.

Maureen A. Kahn, RN, MHA, MSN, will assume the role of President and Chief Executive Officer on Oct. 1. Kahn is currently the president and CEO of Blessing Hospital. She will replace current BCS President and CEO B. Bradford Billings, who retires Sept. 30 after serving the organization for 34 years. He spent the last 14 as president and CEO.

"The Blessing Corporate Services Board of Trustees is thrilled to find someone within the organization with the proven skill and ability to move the Blessing Health System forward in its mission to improve the health of our community, and who holds the respect of that community," BCS Board of Trustees Chairman Tim Koontz said.

Kahn has worked with Blessing Hospital since April 2001, serving as senior vice president and chief nursing officer until she became president and CEO in May 2005. She had 24 years experience in healthcare before joining Blessing.

"This region became my home 13 years ago and everyone in it, my neighbors," Kahn said. "I am honored that the Blessing Corporate Services Board saw fit to give me the ultimate accountability for improving the health of our community."

Kahn will assist the board of trustees in selecting a new president and CEO of Blessing Hospital either by filling her position or restructuring.
