QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -
Four local pep bands came together Wednesday night to raise money for a good cause.
Payson Seymour, Quincy University, QHS, and QND performed at the Wayne Potter Memorial Pep Band Festival. Each band performed ten songs plus their school song, making it an entertaining night for the audience. QND Principal Mark McDowell said the event is fun for everyone.
"It's not as regimented as some things. You know lot of kids dancing on the floor, little people running around with drum sticks that they got from older brothers or whomever and just having a great time," McDowell said.
Proceeds from Wednesday night's event go toward the Wayne Potter Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded to QND band members.
