The first Great River Honor Flight of the year is less than a month away, and the support to send our veterans to Washington, D.C. is going strong.
VFW Post 4342 the Ladies Auxiliary made another generous donation of $1200 dollars Thursday to Honor Flight. They raised the money during a chicken dinner in January.
Commander Rick Davis says it's important for veterans to understand how much they mean to the community.
Twenty veterans from Clark County have gone on an Honor Flight since the local program begin in April 2010.
April 10 is the 23rd mission to D.C. for the Great River Honor Flight. The homecoming will be at John Wood Community College in Quincy.
