Annual Crab Fest raises money for Care Net of Quincy

Some Tri-State residents chowed down on crab on Friday and it was all for a good cause.

More than 300 people dined on all the crab they could eat at the Ambiance in Quincy.  It was the seventh annual Crab Fest benefiting Care Net Pregnancy Services.
Care Net supports women facing unplanned pregnancies.  All the money raised goes to Care Net's services.

"A lot of our young women who come in, really have nothing as they prepare for the birth of their baby. So we help them.  We do a lot of education and information on labor delivery and parenting.  They can get things like a new crib and mattress, stroller, car seat, it helps them get what they need," Executive Director of Care Net, Laura Williams said.

There was about 350 pounds of crab served at the event. Organizers expected to raise more than $10,000.
