3rd Annual Amateur History Road show brings out history lovers

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - Hundreds of people enjoyed the beautiful Saturday by attending the 3rd Annual Amateur History Roadshow.

The Quincy Park District and Historical Society of Quincy and Adams County teamed up to present the event. Mark Callaway, with the Quincy Park District, says the event grows each year.

Callaway also says events like the roadshow are a good way to learn about the past.

"People can tell their stories or their family's history, and the local history of Quincy," Callaway said. "Young people like myself, who can learn a great deal about what was important to the people that were living before us here in this area."

13 different groups were on hand showcasing Dick's Brewery, classic model cars, historic magazines and more.
