Quincy High School staff gets active shooter training

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - Members of Quincy Police Department's Emergency Response Team gave a presentation and drills with the Quincy High School staff about what it can expect and plan for if there is ever an active shooter inside the school.

"Anybody that is employed by the school will have proper training in the school's protocol on what they'd be expected to do, where they'd be expected to go and what their responsibilities would be," Sgt. Adam Yates said.

Staff members also learned what tools and tactics police have changed since the Columbine shootings in Colorado.
