McDonough County board takes steps to restrict nude dancing

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - It will be at least mid-April before the McDonough County board will vote on an ordinance to ban topless bars, but the board took steps Wednesday night to curb adult entertainment.

The board voted to amend the county's liquor ordinance to prohibit nude dancing and other indecent activities in places with liquor licenses.

It's all in response to the recently opened topless bar near Colchester. Wildlife doesn't have a liquor license, but the changes are meant to prevent it from getting one.

The board also unanimously passed an advisory resolution urging the state to complete the four lane bypass as originally proposed instead of opening it with just two lanes until future funding becomes available.
