Hannibal School District looking to change summer school schedule

Snow days are still having an impact on the Hannibal School District.

Superintendent Jill Janes announced changes to the summer school program.  Since several snow days pushed back the final day of school, the district will look at a shortened three week summer program.

"We need to take a week off to get our buses ready to pick up kids and then allow the teachers to get ready for summer school too.  And you can do that by the state as long as you offer enough hours, which we do," Janes said.

Janes said roughly one-third of Hannibal students attend summer school.
