Traffic signals at two Quincy intersections to be turned off Monday

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - The City of Quincy says the traffic control signals at two intersections will be turned off Monday morning.

The signals are located on 8th Street at the Jersey and Vermont intersections. City Engineer Jeffrey Conte says the signals will be replaced with double, two-way stop signs.

The Quincy City Council voted Monday, March 17 to replace the traffic signals.

The traffic control changes will be monitored for 90 days and public comment can be sent to the City of Quincy Engineering Department.
