Pike County Sheriff's Office warns residents of scam

PIKE COUNTY, Ill. (WGEM) - The Pike County Sheriff's Office says residents need to be on the look out for a phone scam.

Spokesperson Steph Reinhardt says the scam is by phone from the number, 210-390-4139. The caller claims to be a DEA agent and attempts to get the victim's personal information. The person on the phone says the victim will be arrested for ordering medication online.

Reinhardt says anyone who has given out account information should contact their credit card company or local bank. A credit check is also suggested if personal information is given out.

To report a scam, call your local sheriff's department or police agency.
