QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - This year's Polar Plunge in Illinois was one for the record books.

According to Special Olympics Illinois, more than 7,300 participants were "freezin' for a reason" across 20 plunge locations across the state.

Altogether, over $2 million was raised for Special Olympic athletes.

Quincy was one of those locations, where WGEM's Kendra Whittle took the plunge Feb. 22.
