Fire destroys shed, equipment in rural Pike County

Fire officials in Pike County, Illinois say thousands of dollars in equipment were destroyed in a machine shed fire Wednesday.

North Pike Fire Chief Paul Craig says crews responded to a farm three miles west of Perry, Illinois on Highway 5 just before Noon. He says the shed was already fully engulfed and beginning to collapse when crews arrived.

Two tractors were inside the shed, along with other machinery and tools.

Craig says a cause has not yet been determined, but it is not considered suspicious.
