Blessing Hospital names new patient care addition

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - Blessing Hospital leaders have selected the name of the new patient care addition.

The $70 million addition will be called Moorman Pavilion, which is named after the Quincy-based manufacturer.

“For many years the Moorman family was a major contributor to the vitality and well-being of the city of Quincy and Adams County as an employer and a civic leader,” Maureen Kahn, president/chief executive officer of Blessing Hospital said. “The name of the patient care addition at Blessing Hospital will provide lasting and visible recognition of the Moorman legacy of leadership.”

The CFM Foundation, started by the late C.A. Moorman and his wife, has been a major to Blessing Hospital over the years.

“Throughout the years, The CFM Foundation has provided Blessing with millions of dollars to support nursing education, capital equipment needs, and facilities,” Kahn said.

The Moorman Pavilion will consist of 52 single bedrooms, which will allow 52 current rooms to become single-use. The addition is expected to decrease the risk of infection and increase privacy.

The building is slated to be finished by early 2015.
