Lewistown boil order extended to Friday

LEWISTOWN, Mo. (WGEM) - Lewistown officials say a boil order issued last week has been extended to Friday.

City official Linda Whitaker says one of the water samples tested showed traces of coloform. Coloform is an organism that's used as an indicator that potential contamination is present.

The boil order will expire Friday at midnight. Whitaker says the extension is just a precautionary measure.

The boil order began Wednesday, March 26 when a water main broke on North Pine Street in Lewistown.
