Gardeners ready to get hands dirty

Posted:
HANNIBAL, Mo. (WGEM) - Hannibal Parks and Recreation officials are looking for people to get their hands dirty Saturday.

Cleanup starts at 9 a.m. at the Common Ground Community Garden. It started last May as a vacant lot in the middle of an industrial district.

Caretakers say that leads to a lot of trash around the garden.

"Because of the storms, because of the recycling center across the street, it's just a windy area and a lot of the trash just ends up in our community garden, so we need the help to clean it up."
