Kids and adults enjoy new Quincy Museum exhibit

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - After being closed all winter, the Quincy Museum is back open and a lot more kid friendly.

The museum's Native American exhibit now gives kids the chance to dress up in costume, play games, and even go inside a real wickiup - similar to what the Illinois Native Americans used during their winters.
Executive Director Barbara Wilkinson-Fletcher hopes it will inspire kids to learn about the heritage.

"We'd like to see awe and wonder in their eyes when they walk through that door and see the full sized wickiup and the things that they can do. We also just hope honestly that they have some fun while they're here," Wilkinson-Fletcher says.

For the adults that will be accompanying the kids, there are photos and other historic artifacts on display as well.
