HANNIBAL, Mo. (WGEM) -
Hannibal Clinic, Northeast Missouri Narcotics Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration are teaming up to host a drug take back at the clinic's family practice reception area April 23 from noon to 3 p.m.
Marketing Director Ginny Webb says the drug take back helps get expired or unneeded medications out of your home and disposed of properly.
The take-back will be accepting all medications including: prescription, over the counter, controlled substance, liquids containing medications, prescription inhalers, medicated ointments and patches. If possible, the clinic asks to bring medications in the original packaging to help avoid additional processing.
The following will not be accepted at the take back: illicit drugs, sharp objects including needles, radioactive medicines, bio-hazardous materials and medical devices.
When dropping off medication, bring identification showing you're over 18. You are allowed to bring medication from anyone living in your household. Only individuals are asked to bring in medications. The take-back will not accept medications from businesses like pharmacies and doctors' offices.
