Marion Co. Farm Bureau donates bags of groceries to residents

PALMYRA, Mo. (WGEM) - Some local Marion County residents in need got a welcome surprise Tuesday, in the form of groceries.

Members of the Marion County Farm Bureau delivered over 62 bags of donated groceries to county residents on fixed incomes. Residents received items like milk, bread and meat that were all donated by local businesses.
Officials with the Marion County Farm Bureau say this was a way to give back to community members who have lived in Marion County for years.

"It's just a thank you. We hear a lot about the need for food and stuff like that, so we're just giving a little help," Brent Hoerr said.

Hoerr says the program teamed up with the Marion County Meals on Wheels program to deliver the groceries.
