Ralls County Coroner Denise Goodwin says autopsy results show the missing Hannibal man found in the Salt River drowned. Toxicology reports are not in yet.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Brent Bernhardt confirmed the body of Terry Marshall, 62, was found Monday morning at 9:48 a.m., between the Rereg Dam and the Clarence Cannon Dam. He says Marshall's body was found about 15 feet off the banks.

Bernhardt says no foul play is suspected.

The search began last Tuesday, when Marshall didn’t show up for work at the Northeast Missouri Correctional Facility. Gina Scott, Marshall's stepdaughter, says he was supposed to be there at 3 p.m. Deputies say Marshall was mushroom hunting when he went missing. He had been using a boat to get where he was looking for mushrooms.

Crews found Marshall's hat and a boot about a mile and a half from the boat ramp Thursday during search efforts. Bernhardt said a truck and a boat belonging to Marshall were found after deputies responded to a missing persons report on Tuesday afternoon. The boat was found with its motor running and a dent in the side at Hunter Fisherman Access 70 off Cincinnati Road about five miles north of Center, Missouri.

Officials with the Army Corps of Engineers lowered water levels in the Salt River by five and a half feet Thursday through a dam as crews continued their search, but it didn’t turn up any clues, and the water was released back into the river that evening.

Throughout the search, a team of police used sonar boats, as well as K-9 officers. Officials said the dogs did pick up a trace of Marshall's scent just north of the docking area Wednesday, but they lost it shortly later.
