Woman accused of locking child in basement to get mental examination

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - The Quincy woman accused of locking her child in the basement will undergo a mental examination.

Tricia Franklin appeared in court where Judge Scott Walden appointed Dr. Frank Froman to perform the evaluation.

Franklin was arrested last month after officers found her five-year-old son home alone and locked in a basement.

Her next court appearance is June 4.
