Student suffers minor injuries after school bus crash
MACON, Mo. (WGEM) -
A school bus crash in Macon, Missouri Monday afternoon sent one child to the hospital.
Macon Assistant Chief of Police Jeff Brown says Lilliane Elrod, of Atlanta, Missouri, was driving west on Bourke Street around 3:07 p.m. when she failed to yield at Wentz Street. A Macon County R-1 School Bus driven by Paul Shrum, of Macon, Missouri, then struck the minivan, causing Elrod's van to strike a stopped pickup eastbound on Wentz Street.
Elrod was ticketed for failure to yield at an intersection.
The bus was carrying over 20 elementary students at the time of the crash. One child was transported to the local hospital for treatment and was later released.
