Quincy man hurt in pedestrian accident

A Quincy man was injured this afternoon after he was hit by a car on the city's south side.

It happened on 12th Street just south of State Street, around 8:40 Friday evening.

Quincy police officers say 84 year old Ann Knoernschild was driving south when she hit 24 year old Erik Hummel, who was crossing 12th Street. Officers say Hummel was not in the crosswalk. He was taken to Blessing Hospital, and later released.

He was also ticketed for improper pedestrian use on the roadway. Knoernschild was not cited.
