Boy Scout turns popcorn into big donation for Honor Flight

Posted:
QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - A Canton, Missouri boy scout is putting his sales skills to work to help send more local veterans on an Honor Flight.

For the second straight year, Clay LaCount has raised money for the Great River Honor Flight.  He donated $750.

He sold more than $10,000 worth of popcorn to raise that money and honor members of his family who've served in the military.  Clay rides around Canton on a bicycle his dad retrofitted to haul his popcorn.

In two years, Clay has personally donated $1,150 to Honor Flight.
