Man arrested for burglary of Payson home

PAYSON, Ill. (WGEM) - The Adams County Sheriff says deputies arrested a man after he broke into a home and stole computer equipment.

Sheriff Brent Fischer says someone broke into a Payson home Thursday after taking the screen off of an unlocked window at the back of the house and crawling through it.

Fischer says the burglar took computer items.

Deputies found and arrested Derick S. Wewerka, 33, of Payson, at his house in connection with the burglary. They say they found some of the computer items in the house.

Wewerka is charged with residential burglary.
