MACOMB, Ill. (WGEM) -
Deputies arrested two people during a drug raid as part of an investigation into a local heroin distribution ring.
McDonough County Sheriff Rick VanBrooker says police officers and sheriff deputies found 12 grams of heroin packaged for delivery, several hypodermic needles and other heroin paraphernalia from a Macomb home during a May 15 drug raid.
Officers arrested Robin Myers and Mike Russell at their home. The two are charged with conspiracy to distribute heroin over 100 grams.
After charges were filed, VanBrooker says officers took heroin from people connected with them in Colchester and the surrounding area.
