Hancock County crash injures two

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - Two people were injured in a two car collision in Hancock County.

It happened at 1600 East, off of US 136 just after 6:15 Friday night.

According to the Illinois State Police, 34 year old Heath Marmion of Basco was stopped at the stop sign, but did not yield the right away - and drove right into the path of an eastbound truck tractor, driven by 37 year old Michael Coons of Kahoka, Missouri.

They say Coons' truck tractor hit Marmion's truck on the front passenger side. Marmion was flown from the scene to Blessing Hospital with what troopers described as serious injuries. Coons was taken to Memorial Hospital in Carthage, and was later released.

Marmion was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way, and for not wearing a seatbelt.
