Macomb police warn against unlocked vehicles

Posted:
MACOMB, Ill. (WGEM) -

Local police are reminding Macomb residents to lock their car doors.

Officers say they have noticed a slight rise in vehicle burglaries in the past two weeks. They recommend that drivers also remove all cash and expensive items from their cars.

Patrol officers have been out in neighborhoods to try and deter criminals, but they say they do know that locked vehicles are not getting broken into overnight.
