Riverboat docks upstream

Posted:
HANNIBAL, Mo. (WGEM) -

The high river water is forcing the Mark Twain Riverboat to move its docking location.

Riverboat Captain Steve Terry decided to move the boat Monday because it would sit on higher water at the 522 Bridge Street location. He says the riverboat is still running normal cruises everyday. But Terry does say the move does present several challenges and the move makes it difficult for customers to find the boat.

"The July 4th weekend is typically one of our busiest weekends and it's changed up a little bit because of the high water now," Terry said. "We'll just have to take day-by-day and see what we can run."

Terry says they'll continue to watch the river levels and reevaluate if they can stay open after the weekend.
