Runners take on the Hannibal Cannibal

HANNIBAL, Mo. (WGEM) - It was a perfect day for the annual Hannibal Cannibal, a difficult but fun tradition, in America's Hometown.

It was a rigorous course whether runners did the 5K, 10K or 15K. Kids also got in on the action as well for a fun run with different age categories.

Runners say the design off the course makes this race extremely challenging.

"Probably the big hill," runner Grace Young said. "It's terrible. You can barely run. You're pretty well walking up it. It's up Lover's Leap, so it's quite a challenge. Coming back down you have to try and not go too fast and go out of control. It's really rough."

Grace Young placed first in her age group for the 5K ages 15 to 19.
