QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -
A local church spent a patriotic Sunday, complete with a special church service and afternoon BBQ.
The church pastor says their service was held at 10 a.m.on Sunday, where guest speakers such as George Washington and Abraham Lincoln spoke. They also grilled up hamburgers and hotdogs, had inflatable's for the kids, played kickball and more.
The pastor says his favorite part of the day was the patriotic service this morning though.
"They read some of their speeches that each one of these people did,” Larry Connour said. “And just incredible how touching and how emotional they were, our founding Fathers. And how passionate they were about establishing a county that was free."
There was also a 21 gun salute and an offering was taken up, which will go towards the Honor Flight.
