Flood waters close local restaurant

One Quincy restaurant had to shut its doors Monday because of high river levels.

Despite installing a flood ramp Wednesday, The Pier Restaurant was temporarily closed for business Monday. Because flood waters crept up over Bonansinga Drive Sunday night, Executive Chef Richard Cole says he and his team knew they wouldn't be able to open Monday morning.

"We made it through dinner, no problems," Cole said. "We're hoping to be open by Wednesday or Thursday at the latest."

Cole says as soon as the water is off the road, the restaurant will re-open.

Cole says no water was in the building Monday morning.
