More charges for man accused of several burglaries across the Tri-States

The man accused of several burglaries in Illinois and Missouri now faces charges in McDonough County, according to Sheriff Rick VanBrooker.

VanBrooker says a warrant was issued for Daniel Coonfield, 29, charging him with burglary and theft over $300. Coonfield is currently being held in the Lewis County, Missouri, jail where he is charged with stealing a vehicle.

According to VanBrooker, Coonfield broke into a garage July 7 in rural McDonough County and stole keys from a pick-up truck. He is also alleged to have stolen a car from a garage in Sciota the next day.

Marion County, Missouri authorities starting searching for Coonfield in the Palmyra area July 8 after he allegedly broke into a residence searching for gas. Coonfield was arrested July 12 by Kirksville, Missouri police and was transferred to the Lewis County Jail.

Coonfield is scheduled to make his first appearance in Lewis County on July 21.
