AUGUSTA, Ill. (WGEM) -- Southeastern has a new boys basketball coach and a name familiar to fans of the Suns program as well as Brown County.

At Monday night's school board meeting Brett Ufkes was approved to succeed Todd Fox following a five-year run as the assistant girls basketball coach and co-head coach of the junior high girls program.

Ufkes is a former standout basketball player at Brown County where he helped lead the Hornets to a Super-Sectional appearance in 2003 and a sectional championship berth the following season.

Ufkes takes over for Fox who resigned last month.
