A senior apartment resident's council donated $600 to Great River Honor Flight after seeing how much the flight affected some of its own residents.
Members of the Beth Haven Terrace West Resident's Council, in Hannibal, made the contribution in honor of those who have served our country. Several residents of the apartments have gone on honor flights, and have come back telling everyone about the experience. Council members say the trip was so significant for the veterans, they wanted to help raise money to support the trips to Washington D.C.
So the resident's council raffled off a 32-inch TV to raise some money for the organization. One of the managers, Joyce Hancock, won the raffle at the council's July meeting.
