Board members meet to discuss safety at Adams County Jail
Adams County Sheriff Brent Fischer addressed board members in an executive meeting on how to keep deputies safe when at the Adams County Jail.
Thursday's meeting came as a result of three inmates trying to escape and assaulting a deputy who had to be sent to the hospital.
Sheriff Fischer said there will be some immediate changes to operations such as changing procedures within the jail as well as issuing new toothbrushes, which was the weapon the inmates used to attack the deputy.
Coming up on WGEM News at Ten, see the type of toothbrush the inmates used as a weapon and what the department will now issue inmates to prevent this from happening again.
