WIU officials say changes in move-in process should make students more comfortable on campus
MACOMB, Ill. (WGEM) -
Changes are coming to the move-in process at Western Illinois University in hopes of bringing students closer together before classes start.
Students will move in a day earlier this year on Friday, August 22 starting at 8 a.m.
WIU officials say by getting settled in a day earlier, they will have the opportunity to bond during activities on Saturday on campus.
"It allows them to become acclimated and comfortable with campus," WIU Assistant Director Of Undergraduate Admissions Sarah Jewell said. "It's students that are more comfortable with campus are the ones who are going to exceed and excel . Make sure they feel at home here on campus."
