QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - The case against a Quincy man accused of assaulting an Adams County corrections officer last month is moving forward, according to court records.

Cobretti Matlick, 24, appeared in court Wednesday where Adams County Circuit Judge Scott Walden found probable cause. However, an arraignment was not scheduled.

Matlick is scheduled back in court Sept. 3.

Matlick is accused of conspiring and attempting a jail break July 27, along with Nicholas Ray and Jason Keller. During the incident, authorities say Matlick injured corrections officer Brian Doellman with a shank made out of a toothbrush.

The case against Keller has since been dismissed, but charges can be filed at a later date.

Ray pleaded not guilty last week and is scheduled for jury trial Oct. 14.
