HANNIBAL, Mo. (WGEM) -

Hannibal's poverty level is 24 percent according to Project Community Connect. On Thursday, service organizations and local organizations gathered at the Admiral Coontz Armory in Hannibal to help reach out to those in need.

It was a one stop shop that offered those in need help with housing services, hair cuts, skin cancer screenings and much more.

Jessie Dryden with Project Community Connect said there are 102 homeless students in the Hannibal school system.

"I think these are numbers that are manageable," Dryden said. "These are numbers that we can actually reduce. These are neighbors, you know, these are our neighbors, our friends, our family and we're here to help. Very purposed and very willing to help them."

Dryden said they were expecting about 150 people, but thinks they had more than that. She also said this year they were offering training in interview skills and customizing resumes.
